Day 84:
After 40 days that there were almost no changes at all, something wonderful happened!
My radish bloomed! This white flower came out of nowhere in only 2 days! And it is already about 12 cm tall. I have no idea when and if the radish root will be ready to eat, but now I'm just so in love with this little flower!

Το "γεια στα χέρια μας ΙV" πάει ένα βήμα parapera! Γιατί η δημιουργία είναι η ελπίδα και η δύναμή μας. Για μια ολόκληρη εβδομάδα, το "γεια στα χέρια μας", θα γεμίσει τον 1ο όροφο του parapera με χρώματα, σχήματα, υφές, φόρμες, τρελιάρικες ιδέες, ταλέντο και πολλή θετική ενέργεια!!! Σε πείσμα των καιρών, εμείς επιμένουμε να δημιουργούμε και να αντιστεκόμαστε στο φόβο, την απογοήτευση, την έλλειψη οράματος και την παραίτηση.... Μοιραζόμαστε την αγάπη μας για το χειροποίητο, στηρίζοντας παράλληλα την παράδοση, την ανακύκλωση και την έκφραση! Λειτουργούμε χωρίς μεσάζοντες και ανεξάρτητα από ισοπεδωτικές «τάσεις της μόδας». Δημιουργήσαμε αυτό χαρούμενο craft party – Bazaar, γεμάτο καλούδια από τα χεράκια μας, που περιμένουν να γίνουν δικά σας! One of the things one can really miss living in Bahrain is green. Bahrain is a central middle east country, this means you mostly see super tall modern buildings and sand. Lots of sand. It's also very hot and sunny here. So I am taking advantage of the weather conditions and I started a small garden on my window ledge. I put some carrots, some rocket, some coriander, some parsley and some radish. I decided to stalk the radish as it grows from a small seed into my salad! Day 1: I put the seeds inside paper towel. I kept them there for 2-3 days making sure to give them water so the towel is always yet. Day 3: The seeds are already growing. Time to move to a new home. I put them in a pot full of good soil and of for the window ledge!Let's see how long it takes until the first tiny leaves appear... :)

Μετά το χριστουγεννιάτικο bazaar, το ‘Γειά στα χέρια μας’, επιστρέφει για να καλοσορίσει το καλοκαίρι με ένα νέο bazaar παρέα με καλλιτέχνες, χειροτέχνες, diyers, crafters, designers και γενικά με ανθρώπους που εκφράζονται δημιουργώντας. Για τρείς μέρες, Παρασκευή, Σάββατο και Κυριακή, διοργανώνουμε το πιο πολύχρωμο, ζωντανό και παιχνιδιάρικο Bazaar με ελεύθερη είσοδο για όλους! Σας προσκαλούμε να έρθετε, να χαζέψετε τις νεανικές ιδέες που θα παρουσιάσουν τα... παιδιά και γιατί όχι να αγοράσετε δώρα για εσάς και τους αγαπημένους σας. Στόχος των συμμετεχόντων είναι να προωθήσουν την ιδέα του ‘buy handmade’ και να κάνουν αισθητή την παρουσία τους σε ένα υπερκαταναλωτικό κόσμο στηρίζοντας έμπρακτα την διαδικασία αγοράς ‘από τα χέρια του κατασκευαστή, στα χέρια του αγοραστή’ , χωρίς μεσάζοντες που ανεβάζουν το κόστος και χαμηλώνουν την ποιότητα! There was also a meeting in Thesoloniki and these are the cups they sent us. We were about 20 women and altogether we made around 60 cups!! Here is mine! I'm very proud I manage to finish it considering that i'm not a good knitter!

Caps for good!

This Sunday, 30th January, the Etsy Greek Street Team members are grabbing their needles and hooks and are inviting other knitters at Kangaroo craft store to make caps for the "Caps for Good” campaign!

"Caps for Good” is a grassroots initiative of the global humanitarian organization Save the Children and the "Warm Up America Foundation". The project seeks to engage knitters and crocheters to take action for the 4 million babies who die each year within the first month of life in poor countries.

Research shows that 50 percent of the 4 million newborn deaths that occur each year could be prevented if mothers and children in poor countries had access to a simple package of health measures। This package includes antibiotics to fight infections, immunizations, training for skilled birth attendants, education on breastfeeding and hygiene, and basic care such as keeping a baby warm by covering the head and carrying the baby skin-to-skin. America’s leaders could save millions of newborns by increasing international assistance for programs that offer these inexpensive life-saving tools. Do you want to be part of it and help us? Etsy Greek Street Team's Craft Bazaar!

Last weekend the Etsy Greek Street Team was in the small island of Poros with a handmade craft bazaar! We sold our creations, had a swim in the beautiful sea and laugh a lot! We had a great time and a lot of food!! Poros... Siggrou building... Our poster... Inside... My table... Drinking Matt's wine!

Our Etsy Party Box is finally here!!

Last Friday we had our Etsy birthday party with out our box. It was stuck in customs! Now it's finally here! You might think that now is useless but oooh no! It couldn't come in better time! Because in 2 weeks the etsy Greek street team is having a bazaar in Poros! And we are going to use all out gifts! :) So, lets see what's inside!
